SEO for the Industrial Sector – Search Engine Optimization for Industrial Companies

With over 25 years of experience in industrial marketing, we understand the complex needs of the industry. At Industritorget Webbyrå, we specialize in SEO for the industrial sector to ensure you’re visible when buyers, engineers, and decision-makers search for suppliers. The combination of deep industry knowledge and digital expertise allows us to design strategies that take into account long sales cycles, technical terms, and documentation requirements.

Why SEO for the manufacturing industry requires a specific strategy

Unlike consumer-focused SEO, B2B SEO involves more decision-makers, more complex products, and longer purchasing processes. This means your website needs to be both technically robust and tailored to different roles in terms of content.

The search intent behind phrases like “the SEO industry” and “B2B SEO” shows that companies are actively seeking partners who understand the industry’s digital challenges. Digital marketing in this industry therefore requires more than just general advice—it requires an understanding of how procurement works, how technical specifications are communicated, and how you can best build visibility internationally.

Key components of the SEO industry

We structure our work in three steps to ensure relevance and long-term visibility.

1. Industry-specific keyword analysis
For industrial companies, precise terminology is crucial. We identify the phrases your customers use in data sheets, standards, and RFQs. Industrial SEO is strengthened by long-tail keywords such as “CNC machining Halmstad” or “hydraulic cylinder supplier.” This increases precision and reduces irrelevant traffic, while generating more qualified inquiries.

2. Content Creation for B2B SEO
We create content that guides different target audiences—overview pages for management and detailed articles for engineers. Case studies, data sheets, and FAQs are key components of the structure. In this way, B2B SEO supports the entire decision-making process and builds credibility.

3. Technical optimization and local SEO
Industrial companies often compete on a global, national, or local level. That’s why we ensure your website is fast, mobile-friendly, and properly indexed. We work with structured data for products, FAQs, and specifications. If needed, we include the geographic localization required for your SEO so you can reach customers in multiple markets using consistent terminology.

Example – SEO for a manufacturing company

A company in the engineering industry wanted to increase the number of international inquiries. By working with SEO for the manufacturing sector, we developed content centered on their production processes and supplemented it with English versions for export markets. The result was a significant increase in qualified leads from both Sweden and Northern Europe. This illustrates how a strategy tailored to the manufacturing sector can deliver tangible results.

Our strength – 25 years of experience

Understanding the business logic of the industry is crucial to creating an effective SEO strategy. We have been working with marketing for industrial companies for over two decades and understand the buyer’s journey from initial contact to delivery. This experience allows us to combine digital technology with industry expertise, providing you with a solid foundation for long-term visibility.

SEO for the industrial sector is more than just technical tweaks—it’s a method for addressing the industry’s need for clarity, accessibility, and qualified inquiries. Through keyword analysis, industry-specific content, and technical optimization, we help you reach the right people when they’re searching.

What kind of SEO work do we do in Halmstad?

Content

One of the key, fundamental aspects of SEO is content. More often than not, we find that there is a lack of rich, tailored content for the keywords you want to rank for. We can assist with every step of the process, from brainstorming ideas and developing strategies for your content to creating and publishing it.

Technical optimization

One aspect of SEO that many people overlook is technical optimization. This encompasses a variety of factors, but one example is your website’s loading time, which affects the user experience. Another aspect is how your content is structured so that, for example, Google can understand your site. Technical optimization is something we work on from the start and throughout our entire collaboration.

Links

What many people refer to as "off-page" is directly related to link building. To actively build authority for your website, you need links. These links should ideally come from trusted websites with high authority in similar industries. You can view it as a reference indicating that your website is trusted within the subject area if someone links to your site. We operate www.industritorget.se, which is Sweden’s most-visited industry website—something we actively work on as part of our collaboration. Together with other sites and partners, we build attractive backlinks.

Our Process

Step 1

Introductory meeting

You’ll start with an initial meeting with one of our technical advisors. This is to determine whether we’re a good fit for each other. We’ll review your website along with your ambitions and goals so that we can take the next step forward together.
Step 1
Step 2

Kickoff Meeting

The kickoff meeting will be held with one of our Google technicians. Prior to the meeting, our technician will have conducted a thorough keyword analysis, which you will review together to ensure we’re on the right track. During the meeting, we’ll work with you to review the various actions we believe need to be taken, set up tracking, and handle other technical aspects.
Step 2
Step 3

Action Plan

Following the joint kickoff meeting, your account manager will create an action plan outlining the work to be carried out moving forward. This will include setting up reports for the keywords we’ll be focusing on. The action plan will then be presented to you so you’ll know exactly what work needs to be done and when.
Step 3
Step 4

Active work

We will then begin the work based on the action plan. We have also agreed on how our communication will be structured to facilitate proofreading and publishing, as well as other aspects of the work, based on how you envision this collaboration.
Step 4
Step 5

Follow-up

Step five, which is an ongoing process, is follow-up. At a minimum, we will meet with you once a quarter to review the work that has been done and its impact on your website. We will also present a new action plan for the next three months. In addition, we will maintain continuous contact throughout the process, and you will receive monthly reports on statistics.

Frequently Asked Questions About SEO

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the active work you do to ensure your website ranks well in search engines, most commonly Google. There are several different aspects involved, but it is usually broken down into three main categories:
Content – creating valuable content
Technical optimization – The technical aspects behind making your website perform better for both search engines and users
Off-page/Links – Implementing active strategies outside your website, such as building authority through backlinks

SEO is the active process of achieving organic rankings in search engine results—that is, without paying for advertising.
SEM (Search Engine Marketing) is often associated with search engine advertising, where you pay to appear in search results for relevant keywords and search phrases. This is also known as SEA (Search Engine Advertising), which is arguably the more accurate term for paid advertising, whereas SEM is more of an umbrella term for both segments (SEO and SEA).

How long is a piece of string, or how much does a car cost? Well, that’s a tough question to answer. Market prices can range from 3,000 kronor a month up to tens of thousands of kronor a month. But when you buy SEO, you’re paying for time and expertise; there’s no magic formula where paying X guarantees you’ll get X in results. Make sure you’re presented with a clear outline of the work to be done and what has been done, along with full transparency regarding what results you can expect from that work versus what you’re paying.

SEO is a never-ending process. SEO involves actively working to continuously improve your website and your search engine rankings. New websites and search results are constantly emerging, which means your ranking will fluctuate depending on the efforts of others and updates from Google. However, you can generally expect to see noticeable results after about six months of active work. Sometimes it happens faster, and sometimes it takes longer.

One doesn't rule out the other. Google Ads delivers quick results but disappears once you stop paying. SEO is a long-term, more sustainable strategy, though it takes time to see results.
We usually recommend using them in tandem. SEO improves the quality of your Google Ads, which in turn lowers your cost per click. This is because your landing pages become higher quality and better match the search results.
At the same time, Google Ads drives traffic to your website, which in turn boosts engagement on your site, increasing your website’s credibility online and improving your SEO.
But the basic rule is: SEO for those who want to build a long-term strategy, and Google Ads for those who want immediate results!

You can do SEO on your own, but it takes time, requires a high level of expertise and a lot of patience, and it also demands a solid understanding of various tools to determine whether the time you invest is actually paying off. Our team spends every day working on SEO and other aspects of online visibility. We’re passionate about SEO and are well-versed in the latest trends and updates; at the same time, we’re certified Google Partners and we love digital marketing. Just as you’re an expert in your business, we’re experts in Google visibility. As an agency, we ensure you can focus on your core business while we handle your marketing. Always with total transparency, clarity, and communication. With us, you’re not just hiring an agency—you’re hiring a team that works with you, for you!
